Dear families of 6th-12th grade students ,
We’re going to Italy and Greece in Summer 2025, and you’re students are invited!
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://bit.ly/40qhWYC
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
How this opportunity will benefit your student
What we’ll see and do on our trip
Everything that’s included in this experience
How your child can earn academic credit
How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
The meeting will be in the gym lobby on Tuesday, November 14th, at 5:30. See you there!
To be eligible to go, students must be 20 years of age or younger at the time of the trip (July of 2025).
Thanks,
Crystal Denton

The Diagonal Drama Club is producing JUST ANOTHER SNOW DAY on
Thursday, November 9 at 7 pm in The Diagonal Daycare. Tickets are $3 at the
door.
This hilarious show demonstrates how an unexpected snow day can make
everyone just a little bit nuts. A postal worker cannot deliver the video game
everyone is trying to get their hands on and an overachieving student shows up for
this canceled day of school just to keep her perfect attendance record clean!
Director Pam Hoffman says, “The students really like this show. They are
jazzed about presenting it to the community!”
A dessert/pie auction will be held to offset drama expenses. All yummy
food donations are appreciated. Simply drop off your goodies at the door and
Larry Teply will auction them off at intermission. Don’t miss this exciting school
event!

Dear Diagonal Learning Community,
Our school district is conducting a Needs Assessment Survey put together by the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). The survey is designed to help us see our strengths and areas of needed improvement. This will help to focus on improved student achievement.
We would like to hear your opinions through the brief survey linked below. The survey takes an average of 9 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous.
To take the survey, just click the link below, or paste it in your browser and follow the instructions. Thank you for your participation and helping to make improvements for our students. Please contact Mr. McNutt or Mr. Clark with any questions.

Check out our students who attended the Bluegrass Vocal Festival on the 24th! Kylie Hubbard, Rebecca Hoffman, and Claire Oshel performed and made us proud! Thank you Ms. Cruz!

Hello archers! It's that time again!! As the archery season is quickly approaching we would like to get started with the registration process and getting paperwork signed.
Sunday October 29th at 5:00 pm we will have a registration and parent/archer meeting at the school gymnasium (please have the last four digits of ssn for your archer). The registration fee of $30 will remain the same as in the past for each archer. It is very important for those of you that know for sure that you will be going out for archery to attend with at least one parent. For those that are not sure please attend as well and we can answer any questions that you may have.
While the program is offered to Diagonal students in grades 4 - 12 it is as in the past offered to Mt Ayr students in grades 7 - 12. You are allowed to be on the team so you will need to attend this meeting as well.
Please share with anyone that is interested in the upcoming archery season.
See you all Sunday at 5pm!
Thank you,
Doug & Jerica

Diagonal Fall Play
Pie/Dessert Auction
The Diagonal Drama Club’s fall play will show on Thursday, November 9 at 7 pm in the Diagonal Daycare. This is a changeup from years past since the play is normally held on a Friday, so be sure to mark your calendar!
Come be a part of the hilarity that comes with an unexpected snow day. From a drama teacher and one of his students who are dying to get their hands on the next version of a special video game, to a young couple whose car is stuck in the snow but now they are fighting, to an overprotective mother who nearly ruins a romance–this play has it all!
“Just Another Snow Day” written by Bryan Starchman and produced with special arrangements with Eldridge Publishing will not disappoint!
Director Pam Hoffman says, “A pie/dessert auction will be held at intermission with Larry Teply as the auctioneer! Proceeds will help offset drama and speech costs. All donations are welcome–drop off your goodies at the door and know that we appreciate your help!”
Remember, Thursday, November 9 at 7 pm is the magic date. Tickets are only $3 at the door, so come and see what our amazing young people can do!

Look at the feedback we got from a class visit!
I just wanted to take a second and say how impressed we were with Mr. Robinson and his 7th grade Careers Class. They came out to the farm today and we just had so much fun hosting them. They were a very respectful, willing-to-learn group of kids and they represented Diagonal well. Keep up the good work!
