Last week, Diagonal’s American Government class hosted a straw poll focused on Iowa’s state elections this fall, giving students and staff across our school community an opportunity to participate in the democratic process
The experience provided a valuable, hands-on lesson in civic engagement—especially for our students who will be first-time voters this fall. It also helped our elementary students begin to develop an understanding of elections, voting, and the importance of participating in our democracy.
